Reading: Matched

Hello Blog! I have missed you. After much discussion about this blog, I have decided to tend to it more often with more varied content!

Two things for today’s post.

One: my oppy finds today.

I had the day off work so I decided to check out a couple local oppies that I don’t get the chance to go to. I picked up a couple of 50c books which is always a great way to piss Steve off! LOL! I love books. He doesn’t. I think they make a home. He thinks they look messy. It’s a struggle but I always manage to buy more. And hide them.

I also picked up a gorgeous little teapot for $1. I have no idea where I am going to put it, or what I am going to do with it, but c’mon, it had a little yellow chicken on the lid. Who. Could. Resist?

Lastly, some pure awesomeness vintage flash cards for $2. They are maths ones, but who cares, they are awesome and from 1963. Love.

Two: a book review of sorts.

Kate had been asking for this book, so I finally decided to get it for her. I was a bit worried it would be too teenager-ish for her, being only 10. Of course, she read it overnight. I thought that I wouldn’t mind reading it myself incase there were any questions she needed to ask. It was a nice enough book. The writing was nice too although I think it lacked a lot in descriptive text. The one thing I did notice was that the author seemed a little focused on calorie intake, food portion size and exercise. I am not sure if a 10 year old would notice these things, but I did and I thought a passing mention is ok, but not a main focus, especially for the age group it is aimed at. Overall, I liked it. How about 6 out of 10 stars?

Well, that’s it for today. I don’t want to overwhelm myself. LOL!
