I’ll confess that the only reason I bought this book was because I saw a pin on Pinterest that said something along the lines of their favourite book was The Great Gatsby because of all the fantastic quotes in it.
Well, that’s a good enough reason for me!
To be honest, when the book arrived in the mail I was not expecting it to be only 115 pages long.
That kind of made me happy because I thought, if it’s a crap book, then I’ll finish it quicker!
Turns out, I quite liked the book. Of course, it took me a good 20 pages to become accustomed to the period writing, but after that, it was pretty smooth sailing.
Most of the characters were shallow and not very likeable (except Nick, I liked Nick), but I enjoyed the plot. I enjoyed reading about the Jazz Age of the 1920’s. The excessive money, the parties, the attitudes, the love story.
And this was my favourite quote from the book:
Now, I have a special book to read next. I can’t wait to see what it’s like. 🙂
