Sewing: 501 Quilt Blocks

My friend Sarah picked this book up at the local op shop for $2.

Turns out she wasn’t much interested in making a million tiny little 4 1/2 inch blocks to make a quilt.
So I, of course, offered to take it off her hands.
Once a week, I am going to create a block from it. It’s going to take me ages to get this quilt done, but I figure one block a week is not overwhelming manageable.
The first block is Shoofly. Mine looks a little bit like this:

I really shouldn’t make that picture so large, because then everyone can see how dodgy it is.
Anyway, it’s my first attempt at paper piecing and let’s just say, I can only improve from here.
