Scrapbooking: Amazing

October’s challenge for Scrap the Girls (I know, I’m a month late) was based on a mood board. I really liked the variegated wooden wall and decided to use that as the basis for my layout.
Lucky I keep all those little scraps of paper that normal people would throw away, so it was quite easy to find bits of cardstock that would work.
I had bought a set of Stampin’ Write markers from Stampin’ Up as my 10 year old Zigs are starting to give up the ghost. I did not know you could stamp with those suckers! I can now stamp in mulitple colours without effort! Awesome.
So, I really liked this layout and the Illabo Show was approaching, so I decided to enter my quilt that I had recently finished (blog post to come) and a couple of layouts. My quilt bombed, but my layout won the Crafts with Paper section!
Mine were the only layouts entered. There were some cards and even a paper mache giraffe.
The show was only quite small but we stayed most of the day. Luke participated in the footy throwing comp and he won! A blue ribbon and $10!
We also watched a lot of dogs running around, both in the working categories and the show categories. We, of course, had to stay to watch the corgis. We also got to see the tractor pulls and check out some of the old tractors.
Then we stayed to watch the miniature horse trots, because we are now the owners of a miniature horse, but that’s another story for another day.
It was just a great day getting out in the sunshine and spending time together.
And getting to eat a dagwood dog.
